Why Use Hypnosis?

I doubt that anyone reading this brochure has never tried to give up sugar.  How many times have you said out loud that you were simply going to stop eating chocolate or never drink another soda, diet or otherwise?  And how many times have you found yourself going back to the sweets and sodas and hating yourself for it?

We have sweets and other tasty junk foods linked to many things in our subconscious minds.  For many of us, these foods represent some kind of comfort, a release from boredom, a reward or just a quick way to get an energy boost in our overwhelmingly hectic lives.  And for others, these foods are an addiction that seems to run our lives.

We may consciously decide to eliminate these foods, however, if the sub-conscious perceives a benefit in eating them, or the body is addicted to them, the sub-conscious will over-ride our conscious decision every time.  Will power works for a while and then the sub-conscious intervenes and wins again.  The purpose of hypnosis is to change the body’s reaction to sugar at the sub-conscious level and to eliminate the programming that causes us to reach for sugar or junk food in times of emotional stress, boredom, or because others are indulging.

Hypnosis is a process of allowing the body to relax enough to set the conscious mind aside and allow access to the subconscious.  In this lightly altered state the client can then receive positive suggestions to alter behavioral habits.  When the suggestions are fully accepted by the subconscious the client’s behavior will change.
